This is crazy after searching for an animation site for long while I find a great one, and guess what it was made by WordPress. On this site, made by Daniel, where he and a few others post different content. The content ranges from movie reviews, classic art style, simple drawing, and animations. I really enjoy going thought the blogs and watching and reading them. The content doesn’t look like it gets update every day, but the blogs are well made for what they are. A lot of the blogs are about big name companies and some indie companies.

Probably my favorite thing to do is to watch the videos. Most of the video revolves around animation. But they also throw some interesting videos here and there. I really like the content so I don’t just get stuck with just animations blogs. I also get behind the scenes and posts about new or old techniques are being used today. In short the content that they post changes so you don’t get board of them. The quality is a 9.5/10 and the variety of videos is a 9/10

I recently watched David Gibson-Evolve Animation+Game Development Reel it is about 11 minutes of how the game’s Evolve monster and character where made. It was so cool to the depth of all of the character made, from some geometric shape to full blown character.

Media Arts Resources at Lane

Teresa sent us on a Scavenger Hunt this week to photograph various places that Media Arts students should be familiar with at Lane. I enjoyed this project. I’d just checked out a camera for my Image Communications class, so had a good time getting used to it and working on this project.  Here are my shots. Enjoy ~!

#1 – Teresa’s Office Door.  I had no idea Patty Duke had been in Star Trek.1 - Teresa's Office Door

#2 – The Blue Cyc Wall Studio.  Thanks Google for informing me what a Blue Cyc[lorama] Wall is.  Can’t wait to work in this studio.2 - The Blue Cyc Wall Studio copy

#3 – Equipment Checkout, featuring Michael (because he couldn’t find the Christopher Walken mask I wanted to photograph).  I’m going to get familiar with this place…all those toys !

3 - Equipment Checkout - feat Michael

#4 – The Main Art Gallery.  I was amazed to see these chainmaille shirts on display. This is my kind of art.  I’m jealous (and now ambitious to get a cool shirt done myself).

4 - Main Art Gallery

#5 – The Art-O-Mat.  I walked by this my first few days without realizing what it was. Cool.  I’ve got to scrape up $5 to get myself some art.5 - Art-O-Mat

#6 – The Library.  It will be nice when the library is back home and larger.6 - The Library

#7 – The Silver Sculpture in front of the Health and Wellness Center. I caught this on a really sunny day.  I love the play of light through the green tiles.

7 - Silver Sculpture 2

#8 – Mary Jo Kreindel’s Office.  Mary Jo wasn’t in her office when I took the photo, but I was able to meet her later.

8 - Mary Jo Kreindel's Office copy

#9 – The Bus Stop.  Enough said.

9 - The Bus Stop

#10 – Christina Salter’s Office.  I enjoyed meeting with Christina when I was deciding to enter the Multimedia Arts program.  She was incredibly helpful and encouraging.  Thanks, Christina!

#11 – The Indy Lab.  So many iMacs (and cool posters).11 - The Indy Lab

#12 – The Flags in the Students First building.12 - The Flags in the Students First Bldg

#13 – Construction.  What would the 2015 school year be without all the construction, and playing “Where’s the Titan Store Entrance This Week?”13 - Construction

Now on to the next project.

WARNING!  Be advised that there is construction currently underway on campus, mostly focused on the Center building.  Pathways are frequently being detoured or blocked off entirely so plan ahead, know your routes, and avoid being tardy for class.  You wouldn’t want to get stuck like this little guy (shown above).

A little bit about me

Hey everyone, my name is Derek Purdy and this is a short story about me. Again, my name is Derek Purdy. I am a second year here at Lane Community College. My main major is the 2-year degree in multimedia. However I am aiming to become an animator.  That has been my dream career for […]

Sp15-P1 About Me

Hello, I am Drew Eggers and I am from Portland, Oregon. This is my first year at LCC, but I also went to Portland Community College for a while. I used to work at the Nike World headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon as a full time night custodian. But left that job to go back to school and pursue sports media, radio in specific. My ultimate goal is to be a host or a producer for a sports radio show at some point in my life. I am a huge sports fan and I spend a lot of my free time watching sports. I grew up around sports and it has become a great passion of mine to go to games in person and also watch on TV. Even though I live in Eugene, I am a huge Oregon State Beavers fan and have been since I was born. I moved to Eugene to live with a couple good friends of mine who were already living here, and it was a chance to start a new opportunity in my life. I lived in Portland my whole life prior to living in Eugene. I took this intro to media class because I felt it would help give me good skills that I may not know for going into media in general. Some of the best advice I have ever got was to just try to learn a whole bunch of different things and know a variety of skills. So that is my goal at this point is to learn some new skills.

Babbling about myself

Hello my name is Olivia Van Gorden, 19 years old, and still new to the college scene. A high school graduate of 2014 who is currently attending Lane Community College in order to explore my opportunities. Since high school at Winston Churchill I’ve only become more interested in such things like art and the many skills people employ in order to perfect their craft. I’ve also been readily interested in playing video games and computer games, but because of the game’s art and storytelling I have also gained interest in the possibility of contributing to such a form of art and stories.
I’m not an official multimedia major unfortunately, but only because I’ve just started college, and unsurprisingly I have yet to really plan out what I really want to do with my life. However, if things go well, I’ll have a goal to aim for with more certainty. Even if I’m at Lane Community College for more than two years in the future in order to get started. Currently I hope to have a part in a game company where I can hopefully contribute, enjoy sharing the ups and downs, and struggle with what I believe to be one of my possible passions.

My New Life (Revised – now with Pictures!)

Hi, and welcome to my blog.  I’m Marla, and this is a totally new adventure for me.

Up until two weeks ago, I’d been working in the healthcare industry.  Good money but no creativity.  As the left-handed, weird child of my family, I’ve never really fit into normal society, but years of acting classes paid off and I’ve successfully fooled people into thinking I’m a responsible adult for some time. Well, no more.  It’s time to let all the creativity that has been boiling up in me since my childhood overspill its limits and lead me into a new career path.  That is where the Multimedia Design program at LCC comes into play.

I can’t say that my life has been entirely devoid of creativity.  I rediscovered my love of writing a few years ago, and have recently found a new passion in video production, so I plan to focus my studies on audio and video production.  I’m not planning to head to Hollywood anytime soon, but would like to use my new-found skills more locally helping on small independent films and documentaries.  Of course, I may decide that I really like blogging and parlay this new skill into something financially viable.  Who knows.  At this point, all paths are open to me.

There isn’t much to say about me personally.  I’m not the typical college student. I’m a bit older and a bit more jaded generally, but also a bit more enthusiastic about this since it’s a career path I’ve decided on after a number of years doing what I thought a “responsible adult” should do.  As the director Brian Singer once said, “Screw continuity, I’m going for substance.”  So, substance, here I come.  Feel free to revisit my blog to see how this adventure plays out.

Ok – so I am also a photographer. This is one of my favorite pics from a trip to Italy a few years ago.

Oh, and I make chainmaille jewelry.  So maybe I’m more creative than I thought!
