That is Who I Am

Hello fellow people of the internet, my name is Derek, and I’m here to tell you just who I am.

I’ve lived in Oregon almost all my life and traveled to interesting far places like, New York. Hong Kong, and mostly Philippines. I really do love reading Japanese comics called manga and their anime. I joined LCC last fall and at first just doing drawing art related classes and thought about majoring in Graphic Design. I felt most times I spent thinking what I wanted to Major in for sure, but after meeting interesting people about their stories of how they found what they wanted to major in  and talking with my councilor; My conviction lead me to decided to Major into Multimedia.

In my world I used to spend most of my time playing video games and occasionally do a hour run. Now and days, I just don’t play video games, and it feels almost obsolete. Although that doesn’t mean I won’t ever play video games ever again, I will challenge and wish to beat you at a Mario Party game if I must. My hobbies mostly consist of understanding the piano, and I just started recently. I also really enjoy my daily dose of manga/anime, and drawing like american comic/mostly manga style daily consistently for 4 hours. I love drawing and dynamic forms of perspective and seeing other artists drawing style of forms is always fascinating.

10386846_283738301811868_2270588219659685223_nFor the future I hope to brighten my horizon in the MultiMedia field and find specifically what I will find in life as a job that enjoy as “my specialty”. Hopefully I’ll be able to polish my skills and develop new skills, like understanding Digital Arts. If theres a will then theres a way, and with passion their is progress.

Who Am I?

I am not Jean Valjean, but I do enjoy a good musical! My name is Ashley and I was born in Maryland, but I call Boulder, Colorado my home! I love being outdoors. Whether it is biking, hiking, swimming, reading, or just enjoying the fresh air, it brings me joy. Another thing that makes me happy is music. I joined band in 5th grade and absolutely fell in love with it. I started out playing the alto saxophone and then switched to tenor in 7th grade to play in my school’s jazz band! I’ve stuck with the tenor ever since. In high school, I was introduced to the world marching band! My school took second place at state my senior year which was a huge accomplishment for us! This year is my 8th year being in a marching band and every year has brought new friendships and new experiences! It saddens me to think that soon it’ll be over. This Saturday will be our third official performance at a home game and I’m super excited about it! This year looks like it’ll be an exciting one!! I also absolutely love movies, TV, theatre, etc. which is what brings me here!

After discovering that pursuing science wasn’t the right path for me, I realized that there was a place for me in media. It’s only week 2, but I’m already 100 times happier and more excited with my current and future classes! After completing this program, I hope to be able to put my newly acquired skills to good use. I haven’t taken very many classes yet, but Animation and Audio Production have been the ones that have really stuck out so far! I can’t wait to see where this takes me!

About Me

My name is Emily Maricle, I am 25 years old, and I am married. I have two big dogs, a Malamute mix, and a Husky/ Australian shepherd mix. Their names are Jekyl and Hyde. I grew up in Chiloquin Oregon, a small town in southern Oregon. I was home schooled until 8th grade and have been working various jobs since I was 10 years old, working at my aunts truck stop and restaurant. I think the most interesting job I had was working at the casino. I was a slot attendant, which means I was the person paying the jackpots. I finally decided to go to school last winter and was excited to find out about the multimedia design program at Lane.

I work at Lifetouch, the national school photography company. My biggest passion is photography, so I was stoked to get an opportunity to work in that field. With Lifetouch its more production photography, so eventually I would like to move into getting paid for more creative photography. I have a friend who is into special effects makeup, so I hope to collaborate with her as much as I can so we can both start building portfolios. I really enjoy doing portrait photography, and fantasy type photography. I also enjoy making jewelry, watercolor painting, really most art related projects. When I’m done with the multimedia program I would love to jump into working on freelance photography, and hopefully find a job doing something to help me express my creative side.

Welcome to me..

Hey everyone,

My name is Tyler Gordon I am 26 years old and currently attending college for a AAS degree in Multimedia design. My passion is film and film production. I fell in love with film production when I was 16 years old. My dad worked in the special effects department on the set of Warner Brothers “Matrix” trilogy. I was able visit the set numerous times and witness first hand the film sets, production, effects, makeup and met the cast. I made it my goal after this to dedicate all my time to film. I began by shooting promotional videos for a local insurance company and dabbling around in script writing and then decided to attend LCC in Eugene, Oregon for my AAS in Multimedia Design.

My long-term plan is to get my bachelor’s in media design and work as a videographer for the University of Oregon. In hoping that venture goes well I plan on moving to Seattle or Los Angeles and attempt to work for a production company. I want to direct one day a historical film much like that of producer and director Ridley Scott. These are my goals and hopefully with hard work and strong dedication and organizational skills I will succeed in following my dream.Welcome to me!

Lane Community College Multimedia Design Program: Let’s Do This!

As an actor, dancer, writer, rapper and all around creative individual who was returning to college, I wanted to choose a major that would allow me to further integrate my talents and vision into the realm of film and digital arts. I didn’t want to only audition for projects as much as BE the creator of projects this time around. I have too much to say as an artist to sit back and be a pawn for someone else’s work unless it really speaks to my passion and career trajectory.

I was born and raised in Eugene, and already familiar with LCC, having attended in 2005 for theater, music, and dance. I chose LCC because I could see, after moving back from New York City in 2014, that this humble yet thriving community college had the connections, networking, and curriculum that I needed to further my career. I know that being a jack of all trades can be somewhat hindering and seemingly unfocused to other professionals, so choosing the Multimedia Design program felt like the most grounded and clear pathway to my multifaceted creative goals.

Now I feel that my previous work as a performer and experience on film sets with independent films and students at top film schools in the New York area gave me extremely relevant experience, as well as clarified my goals and intentions as an artist and producer. As I continue to further my craft as a performer, I am now learning new skills to be in the driver seat. Soon I will be at the helm of a production team, leading a collaborative effort to completion.

My spirit animal right now is a spider, weaving an intricate web of ideas, scripts, characters, imagery, music, movement, software, and business in an ever expanding pursuit of turning dreams into reality. This is a truly exciting time for me, and only the beginning.

Getting to know me

My name is Cailen Engelhart, I am 24 and I have been going to LCC off and on for a few years. I have changed my mind a few times on what I would like to study but I feel like multi media design will stick because I am much more passionate about it than I was about my previous areas of study. In my free time I like to watch movies and tv, play basketball, and listen to music. I also like to do things outside like go running and hiking. I am a big fan of comedy, things like stand up, improv, sketch, podcasts. I would love to be able to work in this area of entertainment. When I finish with the Media Arts program I would like to be able to get work as a production assistant at a production company and from there work my way up to any kind of higher production position whether it be more technical hands on work with lighting or sound or more managerial type work like line producing. I would be happy getting to do this type of job at all but would be most interested in doing for a movie or television show.
