Welcome to me..

Hey everyone,

My name is Tyler Gordon I am 26 years old and currently attending college for a AAS degree in Multimedia design. My passion is film and film production. I fell in love with film production when I was 16 years old. My dad worked in the special effects department on the set of Warner Brothers “Matrix” trilogy. I was able visit the set numerous times and witness first hand the film sets, production, effects, makeup and met the cast. I made it my goal after this to dedicate all my time to film. I began by shooting promotional videos for a local insurance company and dabbling around in script writing and then decided to attend LCC in Eugene, Oregon for my AAS in Multimedia Design.

My long-term plan is to get my bachelor’s in media design and work as a videographer for the University of Oregon. In hoping that venture goes well I plan on moving to Seattle or Los Angeles and attempt to work for a production company. I want to direct one day a historical film much like that of producer and director Ridley Scott. These are my goals and hopefully with hard work and strong dedication and organizational skills I will succeed in following my dream.Welcome to me!

Lane Community College Multimedia Design Program: Let’s Do This!

As an actor, dancer, writer, rapper and all around creative individual who was returning to college, I wanted to choose a major that would allow me to further integrate my talents and vision into the realm of film and digital arts. I didn’t want to only audition for projects as much as BE the creator of projects this time around. I have too much to say as an artist to sit back and be a pawn for someone else’s work unless it really speaks to my passion and career trajectory.

I was born and raised in Eugene, and already familiar with LCC, having attended in 2005 for theater, music, and dance. I chose LCC because I could see, after moving back from New York City in 2014, that this humble yet thriving community college had the connections, networking, and curriculum that I needed to further my career. I know that being a jack of all trades can be somewhat hindering and seemingly unfocused to other professionals, so choosing the Multimedia Design program felt like the most grounded and clear pathway to my multifaceted creative goals.

Now I feel that my previous work as a performer and experience on film sets with independent films and students at top film schools in the New York area gave me extremely relevant experience, as well as clarified my goals and intentions as an artist and producer. As I continue to further my craft as a performer, I am now learning new skills to be in the driver seat. Soon I will be at the helm of a production team, leading a collaborative effort to completion.

My spirit animal right now is a spider, weaving an intricate web of ideas, scripts, characters, imagery, music, movement, software, and business in an ever expanding pursuit of turning dreams into reality. This is a truly exciting time for me, and only the beginning.

Getting to know me

My name is Cailen Engelhart, I am 24 and I have been going to LCC off and on for a few years. I have changed my mind a few times on what I would like to study but I feel like multi media design will stick because I am much more passionate about it than I was about my previous areas of study. In my free time I like to watch movies and tv, play basketball, and listen to music. I also like to do things outside like go running and hiking. I am a big fan of comedy, things like stand up, improv, sketch, podcasts. I would love to be able to work in this area of entertainment. When I finish with the Media Arts program I would like to be able to get work as a production assistant at a production company and from there work my way up to any kind of higher production position whether it be more technical hands on work with lighting or sound or more managerial type work like line producing. I would be happy getting to do this type of job at all but would be most interested in doing for a movie or television show.

Salutations!
So who am I and why should you care?! Well I am Kendrick Taylor, a student of the University of Oregon and LCC. A few of my hobbies include Track & Field, baking, gaming, playing piano, and drawing. A few of my favorite shows/series include: Supernatural, Criminal Minds, FMA, and Game of Thrones. My favorite movie is between “Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring” and “The Legend of 1900” ( The Hobbit was terrible). I enjoy playing the piano, all though I was never formally taught. My favorite games of all time are: Super Smash Brothers Melee, Halo ( all but the 4th!), Timesplitters, Kingdom of Hearts, and WOW ( everything after WOTLK doesn’t exist). As for music I enjoy anything from New Age music to the hip-hop genre. Ratatat to Kendrick Lamar. Drake to Whitesnake. The Killers to Boyz ll Men. Hans Zimmer/Howard Shore to Wu-Tang. Just about everything across the board!

So what do I wish to accomplish with my skills and education?
When I finish the Media Arts program here at Lane, and finish my Digital Arts degree at the UO; I would like to continue to the Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD). From there I will internship and finally land a job at Blizzard, a giant in the gaming industry. At Blizzard I plan to be a concept artist/cinematic animator. I want to bring the entirety of my wild imagination and stories to life. By that I mean all the characters, plots, environments, and everything that I have ever thought of; forged into a tangible concrete creation that can be experienced by all. I want my creation to join the melting pot of media that forms a pillar of one’s youth, in which years later someone will still remember and hold my creations dear; much like the experience I had growing up. Whether this be through creating a Massively Multiplayer Online game (MMO) or through drawing, I want my stories told!

Overall I’m pretty much an athletic geek, so if you ever want to go on an outdoor adventure, make obscure references, talk about why the eagles couldn’t just fly The Ring to the fires of Mt Doom, who would win between Captain America or Wolverine (or any fictional characters), or just bake brownies; I’m your guy!

About Justice

My name is Justice Bishop.  I am from Prineville, Oregon but moved to Eugene to study Multimedia Design at Lane.  Though this is my first year at Lane I went to Central Oregon Community College last year, so I pretty much know my way around when it comes to school.  My interest in the field of Multimedia Design are video games and film so I decided this major so I can explore my options.  Though I enjoy playing video games, I also very much enjoy making them.   I have my own Gamejolt dev account and have one game up right now and plan on uploading more.   I’ve never done much with film yet but would love to learn and try it out.

My hobbies outside of school are watercoloring and flying stunt kites.  Pretty lame hobbies to some, but it’s really nice and I like the calmness of it.  I have a Flying Wings Laima(this one is my favorite) and a Prism4D Ultralite.  I’m trying to grow my collection of watercolor paintings beyond just trees and mountains.

I’m really excited to be a part of this program and really hope I can take the skills that I learn here to a job.  It seems like Lane has a really good thing going on here.
