Dan Mason – Make Me Love You

For this being my first time ever scripting and filming a music video in its entirety, I’d say I’m pretty pleased with the results.

The name of the artist who made this song is Dan Mason. I’ve been a follower of his since 2018 and I’m a huge fan of his work. This song of his was one of my favorites, so when the opportunity came to make a music video, I figured that this would be a good first run. I reached out to him in an email, and he gave me the green light to make whatever kind of video I wanted for the project. I got to work and started writing a script and planing locations for the video. After that I got a hold of my friend Aiden who was more than willing to participate in this video for me(Don’t worry I bought him dinner afterwards).

In the video, I wanted to share my perspective through a visual standpoint of how the song makes me feel emotionally. Each setting was picked due to how the area made me feel throughout the song. I also wanted there to be this clash between two opposing sides of the same character, one who is more happy and expressive(Day time footage), and the other who is more cynical and bitter(Night time footage). To really nail home that feeling, I swapped Aidens outfits during filming to let people know that his character was split, yet still the same.

I had a really fun time with this project, and I’m really looking forward to seeing what’s next for me. Huge thanks to Dan Mason an Aiden for making this video possible.

P6 Final Project

This if my final project animation for MUL 101. This was my first time using Adobe Animate, and it was a lot harder to pick up than other programs I’ve learned. There were some issues that I couldn’t fix when animating body parts and the like, but I eventually decided that they added to the uneasy feeling of the video, which took some inspiration from Salad Fingers. I decided to use computer generated audio because I wanted it to sound off, and the computer audio produced that uncanny valley feel. I wanted to surprise the viewer with the scope of the setting, and I feel like I achieved that in the animation.

Despicable

Despicable

For my final project, I wanted to challenge myself by creating a trailer for a fictional mockumentary series, Despicable. Though I’ve been creating videos for a while, I’ve never spent this long and gone so in-depth with a storyline and editing. I learned how to develop an idea into a script and worked on my editing skills in Premiere, Audition, and After Effects.

I am extremely proud of how this project turned out. There were a lot of challenging moments from color correcting the green-screen to adding audio effects to fleshing out the characters, but I think the work paid off in the end. It was so rewarding to bring this idea to life and show myself what I’m capable of when I put my mind to something. I ended up posting my project on TikTok where it received over 300k views, which I was not expecting at all, but it was extremely validating to have my hard work be so well received.

I pushed my creative abilities in a way I haven’t before and am extremely excited to take on larger projects in the future. I tried to pay attention to the little details to create something that feels real and true to form. As a big fan of true crime documentaries, I had so much fun playing with such an absurd storyline and dramatizing the events and I feel like there’s further room to turn this into an actual ongoing series. Overall, I’m really happy that we were assigned this project because it forced me to work on a larger scale than I’m used to. This is absolutely my favorite video I’ve created.

5 Fellas Go Shopping

P5 Image Editing

For this project I wanted to do something short and simple, but also comedic. Me and some of my friends went to the grocery store late at night to make a cooking video, and in the process, I ended up coming up with the idea to make a video documenting just the trip to the store.

I had a ton of fun with this project, and everyone who helped me make it did an amazing job. For editing I used premiere pro, but for the audio I used audition to alter a couple of clips that needed fixing. My favorite part about this project was probably the editing process, just due to the fun I had while trying to get the timing right between frames to let the music boost the videos cuts and effects. I’m pretty satisfied with the way the video turned out, but I’m also looking forward to some upcoming projects in the future, so then I can expand the run time, and also give myself more time to perfect the video I’m working on. Overall, I had a lot of fun with this project, and I’m exited to see where I end up in a few years!

P5 Image Editing – Kaiden Kuntz

I got too ambitious, so this video ended up taking a bit more time to edit than I expected it to. I initially wanted to do one big stop motion that had to do with associating color with music, but I realized pretty early on that I wasn’t going to have enough time to do something like that. After I realized this, I figured that I’d make it more about the 5 colors being in various situations. In doing so, I found that I was able to go about this project in a variety of ways (2D animation, live action, etc.). I came up with a few thematic ideas, and then sort of just went for it. Because I knew that I wasn’t going to have a lot of time, I decided to do things that would help lead to an abrupt cut off in the animation. For example, I chose to use a short meme that I knew would still be effective even in a short time span, and ended my first animation with a sort of absurd, random introduction to the 5th color. The 5th theme of my video mostly came from my frustration of briefly working with the clay, as my entire desk was being taken up with lights and my hands ended up being completely stained from the multicolored clay.

5 things you can see in fall

The first thing that I did for this project is come up with what I wanted it to be about. Five thing that you can see in fall made the most sense to me because they were the easiest pictures for me to get. I actually took the picture of the turkeys way before this project and I thought that it was perfect for this project. then when the project was announced I took a picture of one of the trees outside of our building. For the rest of the images I walked around my neighborhood and took pictures of my neighbors yards.

Once I got the photos that I wanted. I saved them to my iCloud witch immediately shares it to my iPad.Putting each image into iMovie. did a bunch of editing stuff. and used the music skeleton dance by myuu

my ipad crashed and deleted my progress and i don’t want to type it all out again.

P5 Video

I love this project, I was able to be more involved in the game walking along the sidelines, I recorded everything on my iPhone and I got the song online from a free website. I created this video on Premiere, there are some changes I want to make to this video, so I will continue to update it. I dedicate this video to my son, Antonio Gonzalez #3, he’s shown so much dedication to this sport, I’m just so proud of how much this has impacted him in such a positive way. I really tried to keep this video less than 2 minutes, but it didn’t seem like that was enough time to add the clips I felt were important. My favorite number is 23… 2+3 = 5, you can see the player at the beginning of the video wearing #23.

5 Things Kay Likes

Surprise! I was able to animate this!

I wanted to do a little animation about things I like, sadly I didn’t have the time to do a full animated video, but I hope you enjoy the little animations I did get to do. Other than that, the video basically shows off things I personally like, such as games, Demon Slayer, painting, markers, and other art stuff.

Everything in the video, besides the music which was made by Seth_Makes_Sounds” on freesound.org, were created by me. In terms of how long it took me to make the animated parts, it didn’t take me that long. Fun fact, I had to cut the video because when I finished it, it was 3:30. It was mostly because I extended certain parts of the video. Like the Demon Slayer figurine animation, which was originally 21 seconds long and the parts where I showed off my artwork. I ended up putting all my artwork into one frame instead of individual pieces.

It was a lot of fun making this and I hope you all enjoyed the small little looping GIFS I made for the transitions along with the replacement/stop motion animations!

P5: Image Editing

5 Color Exploration Video

For project 5: Image editing, I chose to use a stop motion film style to record a painting of color exploration in nearly 500 frames. For this painting I chose 5 colors, however, I chose these colors under a red light and would not know the true colors until I changed to a white light near the end of the video. As someone who enjoys painting, I had a lot of fun with this experiment. I thought that I had a better understanding of the colors I had selected under the premise of the red light but was still surprised with the true color combination at the end. I chose some upbeat, but relaxed music to accompany the video, and found some title templates to create both an intro and an ending scene in premiere that really tied together this project. After having done this simple painting, I am excited to recreate this project one a larger scale, with more detail and complexity in color combinations. Thanks for watching my video!
