Beverly Donofrio grew up working on a rough start. She became pregnant before she graduated high school and eventually dropped out.
later at age 24, in the midst of being a single mom she decided to go to college deciding writing was the way to go. she struggled a lot and even flunked her thesis that ended up being the first 120 pages of “Riding in cars with boys.” which has cutely become: “No longer Riding in Cars with Boys. I upgraded to riding with my dog.”(she makes note) she got her first big hit when publishing a short story to a magazine. she found financial success but still struggled with depression and major trauma that picked her up out of her life. she found the monastery and helped her heal into the person and writer she is today.

This is Beth McCarthy Miller, she is a TV Director. Beth began as an intern for MTV after college. Miller worked very long hours in her position and really didn’t know what she wanted to do career wise. During her internship a couple Directors from MTV sat her down and told her that she should be a Director, so she ran with it. Beth later went on to direct the “MTV music awards”, “Saturday Night Live” as well as “30 Rock”. What I admired about Beth is that she had no clue what she wanted to do with her career, but her hard work led her to a position she excelled at. Beth believes that every working experience whether it seems bad is actually good and a lesson to be learned for the future.

Road Trip Nation Profile: Andrew Lins

All through school, Andrew was interested in both medicine and art. He decided going into medicine was the more sensible option because it would please his parents. He was working as an orderly when he got in a terrible car accident and had a near-death experience. After his recovery, he reevaluated his life and realized that art was his true passion. A professor recommended that he combine his love of science and art and become a conservator. He is now hailed as one of the best, if not the best, conservators in the U.S. He has treated the Liberty Bell and the inkwell from signing of the Declaration of Independence. After his near-death experience, says the most important thing is spending your time well, doing what makes you happy.

Roadtrip Nation Blog: Danielle Feinberg

“We use math, science and code to create these amazing worlds. We use storytelling and art to bring them to life. It’s this interweaving of art and science that elevates the world to a place of wonder, a place with soul, a place we can believe in, a place where the things you imagine can become real – – and a world where a girl suddenly realizes not only is she a scientist, but also an artist.” – Danielle Feinberg

RoadTrip Nation Report Sp2- Report

Aubrey Crossley

“I talk with my camera, better than I talk with my mouth”. The first Rolling Stones principle photographer said in an interview I watched the previous night. His name is Baron Waldon and he was in the Army as a counterspy in Berlin, Germany and pursued his photography career after taking pictures of the Berlin Wall under development one of the topics that I chose to do more research for my report, because of the way he looks at his own life as if every day is an opportunity. I think this report has given me a broad sense of where I see my love and work to pursue my career path, through the development of photography and multimedia. It hasn’t always been so clear for me to know what I want to do with my future. I never really got an idea of where to start and how to get started. Photography is what I know inspires me, even though I am new to it after a year and a half it feels great to still learn new things in learning both digital and film. It is very important to know both aspects. It can be an endless learning experience at least that is how it feels since I started working on photography two years ago and have been teaching myself time after time.
