Professional Blog Search

During my blog search I came across the blog http://diskography.tumblr.com/

The blog calls itself Pirate Bay for the Hood and has a list of hip hop mixtapes (promotional tapes) for download. Because they are promotional tapes and not retail albums, they are free to download. I don’t listen to all the artists listed on the blog, but I did find some tapes I have not heard before that I liked. Many of these tapes are underground and/or older tapes that can be hard to find. Sites like these are important to the hip hop community because they are a way to distribute content that might not be accessible or promoted in certain areas.

Personal Blog

Hi, I’m Phillip. I am a student at LCC in the multi-media program. I have an interest in music and got my audio engineering certificate earlier this year. I also have interest in other aspects of media like video and art design as well. I am not sure exactly what my job plans are, but probably something involving music on the technical side. I am always open to learn new things in the program that I can use in my future work.

Scavenger Hunt

By: Shane Boss

These are the images I took on Lane’s campus for our scavenger hunt in Introduction to Media Arts.  The images were taken with a T5i DLSR camera.  It was quite the journey fighting my way through the sea of students but I managed…

About Me

>Begin Transmission Log…

angry_cyborg_w1     My name is Nathan Foley. I was born in Eugene, Oregon and have lived in this beautiful green state my whole life so far, save for a one year stay in the state of Louisiana. I desire to be a graphic designer and hopefully work within the video game industry. The reason for that is because I have grown up with video games; my life is centered around them, for better or for worse. Nothing I can do about it, but I’m not complaining! I have also been drawing since I was two years old, and video games have influenced my style of drawing. If you ever get to know me personally, you will conclude I am either very open and energetic or just plain annoying. Anyway, have a good Tuesday, my fellow Symbionts!

Ken Rockwell

Ken Rockwell has been my go to for reviews on cameras and lens. He is a great source for all things Photography including tutorials, and links to places that have great deals. His site is advertising free he takes donations and plainly states that that is how is able to operate his site and support his family. His unbiased and real world reviews make the process of deciding whether to buy this or that so much easier.

About me

Hi,

My name is Anthony I have been trying to find my niche in the Digital Design field or rather find a focus in the field. I enjoy and have the most experience in Digital Photography. But have done graphic and web design as well and think that Web Design is a good place to focus. That will integrate photography as well as graphic design and require many different disciplines in the digital field. I am definitely going for the Multi Media Design degree as well as the Web Design Certificate. versatility in this field is indispensable and necessary for success in my opinion in the Digital design field. I have spoken to many people in the industry and have never once been told that you can learn too much about all that is involved in the creative process even art history going to art shows finding inspiration it is practically a way of life not just a job. The learning process never ends from new technology to just how an individual changes with time how they view themselves and the world around them finding a way to show what you see your interpretation of the world around us.

About Me!

Wow! Where to begin? I’m studying to be an animator for one, I’m an avid gamer geek trying to tell his story and leave his mark on the world. I love to design random characters and monsters too! My biggest dream is to make my own project a reality, and I’ll follow that dream until it becomes true! That’s about it i think, have fun on my blog and expect frequent updates and concept art for my project!

Thanks, Dakota

All about me!

photo.PNGphotophoto.PNG copy

I have always been into action sports! For a girl, that’s not exactly the sports path that people would expect. I’ve been skateboarding since I was four, and have skateboarded alongside some of the best skateboarders in history! (Bob Burnquist, Tony Hawk, Pierre-Luc Gagnon, etc.) I wasn’t competing against them but before I moved away from San Diego, I was doing the same sized half pipes as them and skating with them almost every time I went to the local park with an X-Games ramp. After moving from San Diego to Bend, I found that my style of skateboarding was hard to continue with the resources available to me. Then, I was introduced to snowboarding. Ooooh boy, let me tell you, I love snowboarding! It’s my favorite thing to do. Although I’m not able to do it year-round I’m always training for it! One thing I’ve always dreamed about doing is making videos for snowboarding! I own a GoPro so I’m always out filming my friends and I, but have never been the best at editing my videos. in this class, that’s what I’m hoping to learn! Maybe we won’t go into detail about that type of thing in the class, but at least taking this class will give me a better idea of if a Media Arts career is something I’d like to pursue! Whatever I do, I hope that I am working to help better the lives of other female action sports athletes. Whether media arts can get me to where I want to be with my career or not is what I hope to find out in this class, and even if it can’t I’m excited to broaden my horizon on what I already consider to be decent technology skills.
