How Goes it?
My name is
Brian. I’m a U.S. Army Veteran, as well as an aspiring artist. This is my story.
I grew up in a small town called Gold Beach, OR. And when I say small, I mean
small. The only things to do there are logging, fishing, and hunting. I grew up
watching a lot of tv, playing a lot of videogames, and reading a ton of comics.
I’ve always had a passion for art. I like to draw things like cartoons, comics,
portraits, and many other things. My dream is to make my own stuff. Such as my
own comic/graphic novel or animated series.
After high
school I had a hard time finding direction and structure. I joined the army
back in 2009. It was a once in a lifetime experience. I traveled all across the
globe, met people of many different backgrounds, and learned a lot about myself
in the process. But it was never something that I was passionate about. I
stayed enlisted for over 7 years until I was medically retired.
During my time
at Lane Community College I have rediscovered my artistic skills and was able
to complete the Graphic Design program. The skills I’ve obtained while being
enrolled at Lane have given me the ability to not only draw better physically,
but also digitally. While working with Adobe software, I’ve created things I never
thought I had the capability of doing. Most of my work is inspired by my love
for Pop Culture. It’s been exciting and I can’t wait to learn more so I can
keep making cool stuff for the world to see.
Live Long and
prosper,
B.
Good post, Brian. Thanks for sharing all this good information about yourself. I’ve been to Gold Beach and I thought it was beautiful. Thank you for your service in the Army. I’m impressed that you are working towards the Multimedia degree after putting yourself through the Graphic Design program. A very rigorous program, for sure! I hope you enjoy MM…looking forward to seeing what you create!
Nice to meet you Brian! Thanks for your service. I also have done a portrait in Adobe but wayyyyy back in high school. Ill have to show you sometime.
