RTN

A recruiter approached Aaron, and he was asked if he would like to join, with his answer being “Absolutely not.” He didn’t like Law Enforcement at all; he expressed this to the recruiter. The recruiter said, “ Why don’t you join and change that.” So he did. I’m joining Law Enforcement because I love helping others, and want to protect them. The way I relate to Aaron is that I would like to join to now only protect and serve but also change the way law enforcement is viewed by providing the community with properly enforcing the law. I think having a lot of patience as I do will help others better respect law enforcement when that same respect is given to civilians. 

The Audio Project

What I was trying to accomplish with my audio project is something scary. Not something that is just Halloween style but more of an actual scary thing that has happened. So what I was looking for was something that has happened back in the day in real life. I read many dark things online and came across a cult boarding school, a school that was open from the 1970s all the way throughout 2010, shutting down in 2011. I could talk about this “school” here but would rather keep it out to keep the feel of immersion, the name of the school is said in the audio so those of you who are interested, have at it.

The program I used was FL Studio, I bought the full program but had very little experience on it, so making this was rather tough. I have spent 8 hours on this audio file mainly due to almost half the time, I’m trying to figure out how something works. Overall I am happy with what I was able to accomplish with almost no audio production experience. Although I think I would have made a much nicer product if I was in full control of what I was doing, being able to make my own sound effects instead of having to find them online. Sorry about my audio being over 3 minutes long. When I saw that my audio was 4 minutes long, it was already 3am and I wanted to sleep. My future audio projects will most likely be way better than this one now that thanks to this assignment I got a new found motivation to learn FL Studio!

What can’t be burned in a fire nor drowned in water? Ice Ice Baby!
I have a big mouth and I’m quite a load. I’m not gossip, but I get involved in everyone’s dirty business. What am I? A Vacuum!
Stepping out? Wear me first! I’ll protect your feet from the worst. Shoes!
Tall and strong, I stay outside. The sun, the rain, they’re by my side. I give birds homes and help you breathe. I even give you fruit to eat. A Tree!
Here I come and there I go. I move really fast, anywhere I go. That’s why you take me when you’re in a hurry. When I zoom by, I might look blurry. A Car!
Kick up your feet, if you will. I’ll keep you company through Netflix and chill. Though you might not notice, I’m always here, to hold your zines, your snacks, and beer. A Table!
You say we’re pals, that we’re best friends. But only until the morning ends. You say I give you fuel for the day. And when we’re done, you’re gone away.  A Coffee Machine!
Don’t frown at me, I made it clear. Won’t make a difference if you’re near. Just stand in front and I’ll show you exactly how the world will know you. A Mirror!

P1 about me

I’m a second year multimedia Design student at LCC. I’m originally from Northern California but I’ve lived in Eugene for four years this coming August. I have a primary interest in film production and cinematography. I have a secondary interest in audio production and graphic design/animation graphics. I also take analog film photos as a hobby(@filmfr0g on instagram). During my time at Lane Community College I’ve created a portfolio filled with shorts films, Adobe after effects animation graphics projects, protools and Audition audio recordings, photoshop and illustrator graphic design pieces, Maya animation renders, and photo collections. 

After I graduate this spring I hope to pursue an entry level media career with room for creative projects, or/or save money to further my education and obtain my bachelors degree. The UT Austin film program would be a dream, but I would consider transferring to University of Oregon or UCLA as well depending on the scholarship/grant opportunities and if I have the motivation to regain my California residency. If I choose to further my education I hope to gain more experience in script writing and go onto learning all sides of production including acting and directing. Biiig dreams.

P3 RTN

Stacy Spikes was born and raised in Texas. After graduating high school, he was supposed to go to college but instead joined a band and moved to Los Angeles. In L.A he got a job at Motown Records working in the marketing department, then by the time he was 21 he was managing  Boyz II Men, Queen Latifah, and Eddie Murphy. Later he managed Stevie Wonder as well. 

He went on to work as the Vice President of Marketing at Sony, Miramax and Focus Features. In 1997 after noticing the lack of diversity represented in film and being told by Sundance film festival in response to his concern with the lack of diversity being showcased that “if it was good we would show it” Stacy founded The Urbanworld Film Festival, one of the largest internationally competitive festivals representing diversity in film. Urban World is held in New York City annually.

RTN: Wayne Unten

Wayne works as a character animator at Disney. Making an impact on people is very important to him, and is one of the things that he loves about his job there. He started college as a graphic designer, but he decided that it wasn’t for him. He takes great care of the art he makes and he likes to think of the characters that he animates as though they were his children, and I think that the time and effort he puts in is admirable.

Self Portrait

I like to perform In media of all forms although I’m not confident my performances are good because I need experience to refine the craft. I love to brainstorm, especially with teams. I will always have suggestions if you ask me, although I only interject my input when I feel it’s important to the current conversation so I don’t tend to mix things up on my own without prompting. I also enjoy post production although, like performance, I feel I need to make more personal projects to refine my craft before I consider my current final work to be actually finalized in my eyes. I haven’t made many personal projects because my love for filmmaking was formed mostly by taking these classes about it, so I’ll need time outside of college to create something at all, let alone make something good.

Oh yeah another interesting thing to note, I already took every other class for my degree and missed this one so now I’m taking a 101 class at the end of my second year like a professional. And even funnier than that is that taking all the classes I did wore me out to the point where just getting up to do a 101 class is difficult. I would rather lie in bed and try to recover some years of lifespan stolen away by math classes and *shiver* writing classes.
