SUB POP RECORDS Blog
This site is the main blog and news site for all things concerning the record label known as Sub Pop. They are most well known for Nirvana being signed to them as well as many other great rock and grunge bands back in the 80’s and 90’s such as MudHoney, Sound Garden, Postal Service and many more.
This blog is a site dedicated to keeping its subscribers up to date on all their favorite bands signed to their label, with information ranging from recent one-on-one interviews, upcoming tour dates and limited merchandise to upcoming releases from newer bands looking to prove their weight in salt.
I believe this site is very well produced, not only aesthetically and being well spoken and displayed, but also by it’s vice president, none other than Mark Arm, the frontman of original grunge band “MudHoney”. Having said vice president be someone who spearheaded the grunge movement and rocked faces and arenas for decades gives the site both credibility and a voice and direction from someone who knows what’s what, instead of some stuffed shirt just looking to move some product he has no ties to.
All of the information is up to date and cutting edge. If you want to know if a band will be touring or recording anytime, while the bands themselves may be a good source of info, the Sub Pop blog itself will include more details concerning aspects musicians may not think about that most die hard fans are eager to hear. The header is clear and clearly displayed beneath is a site guide with links to all concert dates and tours, upcoming releases, specific band news and a shop link for merchandise from both Sub Pop themselves and the bands.
I commented on Nate, Jacob and Cameron.
