Paramedic Program

Lane’s Paramedic Program is accredited through the State Board of Education and the Department of Community Colleges and Workforce Development.  The Paramedic Program is also nationally accredited through the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs  (CAAHEP.org)

The program starts every Fall term, with an application process the prior year. For more information on that process visit the Health Professions Paramedicine website.

Changes for Fall 2021 Paramedic Application:

The Paramedic Program will no longer require students take COMM 111 or higher, HE 275, EMT 170 or EMT 171 for application or graduation. If you already EMT 170 or EMT 171 courses, there will be some potential adjustments to the credits you are required to take within the Paramedic program to offset some of the credits you have already paid for. COMM 111 or higher and HE 275 will not qualify for an offset in credits starting Fall 2021.

EMT course subject and numbers have changed to EMS with new numbers. Equivalent EMT courses will still be accepted from Lane.

HO 100 has changed to HP 100. Equivalent Medical Terminology courses will still be accepted from Lane.

Cover Letter is required to apply, due with application by deadline. See application information packet for more information. 

Interview is worth 50 points and now has a minimum of 20 points to continue. The 50 interview points do not count towards the minimum of 126 points required in Section 1 & 2 of Form 2. 

Active License Points increased from 2, 4, and 6 pts to 4, 6, and 8 pts for NREMT AEMT License, Oregon AEMT License, and Oregon EMTI License respectively. 

Experience Points has an addition of Affiliation: Five years or more for 10 points.

Changes for Fall 2020 Paramedic Application:

The Paramedic Program will no longer require students take COMM 111 or higher, HE 275, or EMT 170 for application or graduation. If you already took these courses, there will be some potential adjustments to the credits you are required to take within the Paramedic program to offset some of the credits you have already paid for. 

The 2020-2021 Paramedic Program will accept MTH 052 or higher (formerly MTH 095 or higher) and WR 115 or higher (formerly WR 121 or higher).
