The Degree Qualifications Profile (DQP) Project is a statewide initiative that will enhance student success by clearly illustrating what students should be expected to know and be able to do once they earn a degree, at any level.
Based on a framework for student learning developed by Dr. Cliff Adelman and colleagues, the DQP is designed to enable specific descriptions of outcomes for degrees at the Associate’s, Bachelor’s, Master’s and even PhD level. Lane is taking a lead role in Oregon’s statewide process.
- Explore and “beta-test” the Degree Qualifications Profile framework as it applies to two-year and four-year degrees in Oregon.
- Relate Lane’s core learning outcomes, program learning outcomes, and course learning outcomes to the DQP framework.
- Provide a common vocabulary for sharing good practices and a foundation for better public understanding of what institutions of higher education do.
- Create a transparent and intentional environment to guide student learning.
