Placement testing is required for all students interested in earning a degree or certificate. If this is your first time in college, make sure you schedule your placement tests before your Start Right Advising session, as the advisors will use your placement test scores to help you pick the right classes for your program.
Have you completed college level writing or math courses at another institution or in high school? Reach out to your Academic Advisor and they can help you navigate whether or not you need to take placement tests!
Some things to consider related to testing
- If it has been more than one year since you have completed a math course (either at Lane or at another college) or a Lane math placement test, you will need to take the math placement test again.
- We want to help you prepare as much as possible before taking the placement tests! Math review sheets, practice tests, sample questions and more are available for students who would like a brush up.
