Last week, I was privileged to attend a one-week Facilitator Training Course for Digital Storytellers at the Center for Digital Storytelling in Berkeley,CA.

It was an amazing journey with some talented facilitators, and the end product for each of us was a three minute digital story created in Final Cut Express.

This story has been on my mind ever since Columbine went down, and I finally saw a chance to tell it.

Heavy, powerful, really well done. I just watched a documentary on TV; your work has every bit of professional quality that the film (which earned the filmmaker millions) I just saw has. Totally inspiring!

I have to agree with Ailene, your story is powerful, moreso than a documentary since you bring it home to a personal level. I’m grateful you found the courage to stay as a teacher and to explore these forces of fear.

It’s fabulous how much logos/pathos/ethos (those are the words that come to my mind) you are able to create in an affirmative, reassuring and necessary way in such a short amount of time. I’m delighted you were able to have that conversation with your student and also distill this poignant digital story. Very well done technically! So real and convincing. It calls for another cooking show. Just say when. 🙂
