I have a lot of folders and subfolders that I store email in, I frequently search those emails to see when something was requested or discussed, the email goes back at least 4 years in some cases. Will all of that be moved over and will I still know when I received it originally? I understand it will be under labels and sub labels rather than folders, I’m fine with that as long as they are still sorted, just wanted to repeat it here so you would let me know if I misunderstood something.

Thanks for the question. Yes, your GroupWise folders will be converted to Gmail labels. Nested folders will become nested labels. Email will be labeled during the migration to simulate the folder structure of how the email is stored in folders in GroupWise. The original received, and sent dates will be retained on the migrated items in Gmail and Google Calendar.

Unfortunately, Google Gmail can not be sorted. It is always displayed in date order. You can (sort of) work around this by using the search and advanced search to find the items you’re looking for. Here’s a link to more info on searching in Google Gmail https://support.google.com/mail/answer/6593?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=en . Look at the search operators on this page to help find email by date https://support.google.com/mail/answer/6593?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=en . If you must sort your email, use a third party email client such as Thunderbird (or even the GroupWise client) to download a copy of your email to your local computer and use that client to sort.
